Organized in 1984, the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health (CSCH) is a non-government organization and registered charity with the purpose to improve and maintain the health of circumpolar people in Canada. Circumpolar is defined as including all indigenous peoples in Canada, regardless of area of residence. We are a member-driven association of scholars, professionals, practitioners, and community members that depends on membership fees to cover our day-to-day operations as a network hub for circumpolar health research and practice in Canada.
One-year CSCH membership is open to any person in agreement with CSCH’s purpose. CSCH membership includes the opportunity to get involved with networking activities related to circumpolar research, policy, and practice. Multi-year payments are an option, though no discounts are applied with a multi-year membership.
CSCH membership allows for discounted registration costs to the International Congress on Circumpolar Health and CSCH sponsored events. It allows voting status at the Annual General Meeting as well as the ability to hold office. Preferential consideration will be given to eligible CSCH members for any bursaries or travel grants available, although currently we do not offer any bursaries or travel grants. Members will be featured on the website or CSCH newsletters. Members have a password-protected site on the membership tracking system which can be used for internal communication.
Membership is activated at time of payment for regular members. Receipt and membership status is sent immediately through email as well as stored on the membership tracking system.
You will be notified to renew your membership payment to ensure that your membership status remains up-to-date. It also helps CSCH immeasurably by reducing administrative costs and ensuring that membership funds continue to flow to support the activities of the society. Please consider joining today!
